I love, love, love, creative unusual dates. The kind that throw in unexpected adventure, fun, and games. That is why I am in love with the Dating Divas. If you have never checked them out you should! They will inspire you to new heights of awesomeness in your dating experience. Some of our favorite dates have been as follows
The Newly Wed game – Just like the TV show you each have to answer the same question and see how you matched up. We played this 3 years ago for a New Year’s Eve getaway. To make it extra fun I dressed up in lingerie and would remove an item of clothing each time he got an answer right. We had a lot of fun, and in answering questions got to reminisce about good memories and learn some new things about each other. www.thedatingdivas.com/the-not-so-newlywed-game/
Hijack date ! This was epic!! And by far one of the most memorable and unique. The name itself completely intrigued me. I told him we were having an in home date and putting the kids to bed early. After they were in bed, I pretended to be missing some grocery items for our dessert game for the evening. I asked him to go to Food Lion down the street to get the items while I prepared for our activities. As he got in the car I called my babysitter waiting down the street for my call to come. I jumped in our other car and went down to Food Lion. I found where he had parked the car and parked mine further down. Then I jumped into the backseat of his car crouching down with a nerf gun and hijack note on the passenger seat and waited. After getting in I realized if he looked through the windows he’d see me. But fortunately, as most of us do, we walk up to our cars without inspecting the inside which is what he did. He sat down and I spoke making him jump. He saw the nerf gun and smiled big. I moved to the front seat and instructed him to go to our favorite restaurant. Because I had hijacked him he was handcuffed to me during the date. Later I gave him a chance to free himself with a target shooting challenge. We drove to an empty parking lot with a metal sign. I told him to hit a specific letter on the sign. He tried twice shooting over, then under the sign and got one on the target but not near the bullseye. After teasing him he challenged me to try it. What happened then? I hit the bullseye first shot! Haha I rubbed that in for sure. But it was a fun adventure for us both. www.thedatingdivas.com/hijack-kidnap-him/
Love cards matching game- This spiced things up for us big time. We played this one on a Valentine’s date night at home. There are a bunch of spicy actions you do once you find the matches. It’s basically your traditional memory game but for lovers. Looking back we realize it probably was meant to be played a few matches a game, but we were having so much fun we stayed up til 3am in the morning playing it and doing nearly all of the activities. Booty camp date night- This also was one of the most unique. There are games you can prepare with this and you dress up in camo for the theme. It really was a lot Of fun!
Minute to win it games…On a vacation after the kids went to bed we played this one night. We were laughing a lot trying to do some of these challenges. And most of the supplies were things you have around the house, so packing for this game didn’t require a lot of extra things. www.thedatingdivas.com/win-minute-sexy-games/
Bucket List-There are certainly things that I would like to do with my spouse. So making a list of things to do or places you’d like to go, can help you plan for future dates. Some of mine are traveling to Europe together or taking a cruise both of which haven’t happened yet. However one bucket list item was covered last summer. On our vacation we found a big waterfall. I had never seen one this big before and after looking down the hill and seeing people swimming in pools below it, I had to go down and explore. We walked behind the falls which were beautiful. My bucket list goal was to kiss under a waterfall. So that’s what we did.
Creative new spots for sex- If there ever was a epic sex story blooper this would be it. Last summer before the affair we went to the mountains as a family. It started out with a mistake. We showed up to our cabin which had been booked months in advance. We got out of the car and started unloading our newly bought groceries and went inside to look around. What we found is that it was a one bedroom one bathroom cabin. There were no other beds or rooms for the kids to sleep. As we had booked months in advance everything else was full so there was no changing to a bigger cabin. Thankfully we got some cots and sheets and were able to section off the living area in the cabin into a bedroom. We settled in and had a fun week going to the lakeside to swim, playing some fun family games with the kids, and bonfires. Our cabin was up on a hill with a creek straight down from it. After the kids went to bed we stayed up several nights to play some fun couples games or read a book together. But one night we decided to have an adventure at the creek.
During the daylight we put up a beach chair in the middle of the shallow creek. We waited until the kids went to bed and it was fully dark, then we headed to the creek naked except for a towel wrapped around us. There was a trail that snaked down the incline around bushes, poison ivy and woods. I had a flash light with me and flip flops on my feet. We got to the rocks in the creek bed and started to make our way across to the chair. Down a ways there was a bridge that went over the creek with the occasional car that drove over it. As we got close to the chair we could see the headlights of a car coming. My husband told me to kill the light. As I fumbled for the switch on the flashlight several things happened all at once. I slipped on the slimy rocks falling over and plunged the light in the water breaking it and lost one of my flip flops in the current. My husband steadied me and we found the chair. But now we had no light and I was missing a shoe.
We stayed to make love under the stars. I figured once our eyes adjusted to the dark we could easily make our way back when we were done. Later though I looked around and realized there was absolutely no moon light. It was literally pitch black and all the dark shadows of the trees gave no indication of where the trail was. Granite we could have just climbed straight up knowing the cabin was above but all the bushes, brush, trees, and rocks to stumble over were in the way. My husband volunteered to go up and bring me back shoes and a light. But after hearing strange noises beside the creek in the shadows I knew there was no way I was staying there alone. So he gallantly gave me his flip flops and proceeded barefoot. Try and try as we could to “see” the trail, we could not. So my husband literally had to “feel” the trail with his hands. Barefoot and butt naked we inched our way up the trail by hand in the pitch black. This was terrifying and hilarious at the same time. We were totally relieved to make it to the top.
These are the kind of memories though that bond us with our spouse, give us an inside joke, and make life fun. So sometimes just shaking things up and doing something different can add a lot of spice and fun to your dating.
